Scheduling out social media can be challenging as a digital business owner. We are responsible for so many things that it can sometimes be hard to see the full picture of what we are sharing each week and ensure it flows seamlessly. I tried a number of different scheduling options, but after finding nothing that worked amazing… I decided to make one myself.

After using it weekly and tweaking it throughout this past season, it has become a great way to see our social media laid out monthly and weekly. You can see my social media flow for my current business on the Pink Pop Party Instagram page. I thought it might be helpful for you as well.

Social media content planner

Use this social media content planner to map out your own social sharing throughout the week. I like to think of my social sharing as a consistent investment in my brand, and, as with many investments, we should diversify our contributions. I might share a couple of reels every week, also a carousel or two, and stories most days.

This diversified level of content sharing helps me to continue growing a new audience while nurturing and caring for the followers I have. I have found that having all this in my head every day is just too complicated, so I love having this planner that breaks it down into categories and days of the week.

How to use it:

You can print this as many times as needed and create weeks of content planning that you can glance at and see flow with ease.

1. Start by downloading and printing the template.

2. Make notes of your content umbrellas at the top. This will help all of the things you are sharing flow into the bigger story your brand is telling. If you haven’t yet built out content umbrellas, use the training in this video to help you create them.

3. Next, work backward based on your content creation strategy. Do you start your process with long-form content, such as blogs or podcasts? Or do you start with your reels or stories? Wherever you would naturally start is where you should begin when using this planning page.

4. Then work forward from there. When will you share the content, and what will it look like? How will your stories support your content?

I like to see these things laid out; it’s an easy way for me to visualize our strategy and helps tell a fuller story for our audience. What other tools would be helpful for your business planning? Comment and let me know your biggest needs for future downloads.

Happy Planning!
